October looks to be a busy month for the DAMAS team as the demand for registration continues. The month of October will see 20 dental laboratories undergoing inspections with a mixture of first time and recertification audits.
DAMAS auditors will be travelling the length and breadth of the country during this busy time in October with audits as far spread as Falmouth, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Open Evening on 15 October – 3 hours CPD
It’s been ages since we had an open evening at Phoenix and we would like to invite you and your team to the laboratory on Tuesday 15 October starting at 5:45 pm with refreshments and special offers.
We will of course show you around the laboratory and it will be a good opportunity for you to engage with the technicians and admin staff, to ask questions and understand a bit more about the processes involved as well as some of the new materials and systems we have.
Highlights of the open evening are:
We’ll be demoing scanning for Full Contour Zirconia crowns. These have become very popular since the reduction in cost has made them very attractive price wise compared to full gold crowns. They are suitable for use in most FGC situations and really have amazing strength and good aesthetics.
Demo of the Ivobase system which is Ivoclar’s high impact injection moulding system for acrylic dentures.
Presentation on the GDC ‘Standards for the Dental Team’ which will be effective from 30th September 2013.

DAMAS Registrations increase since September 2012
DAMAS has continued to go from strength to strength over the previous 12 months. The number of DAMAS registered laboratories since September 2012 has increased over 120%, with 294 laboratories now being DAMAS registered.
